The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) authorities have announced a new method which the board has approved for candidates to use and check their 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination after shutting down its official portal due to various reasons.
According to the JAMB Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the new method of checking UTME results was introduced to stop fraudsters who are trying to exploit candidates who participated in the examination.

JAMB said candidates should check their results using their unique telephone numbers which they used to create their JAMB profile or Used for JAMB registration.
Fabian further said and I quote below:
“JAMB has not cancelled the results of its examination conducted on Tuesday 25th April 2023 to Monday 2nd May 2023. The news being peddled around Social media is completely fake.”
Candidates are advised to completely disregard rumours being shared on Whatsapp, Facebook, and Telegram, saying that the results have been cancelled.
To check their results, candidates are to use the SMS method introduced by the examination body. To get your result, simply send RESULT to 55019 via the phone number you used for UTME registration. You need to have a minimum of N50 on your sim card.
An earlier report that has long been renounced and trashed by the examination is that candidates who sat for the UTME exercise on Monday could not access their results, causing fears that their results might have been cancelled.
Before the new method was introduced, candidates were able to access their result’s on the JAMB portal and through their profile pages.
